A convenient reply envelope is enclosed with your monthly bill to make paying your bill easier. Bills may also be paid at any of the three Sumter EMC locations .

Payment kiosk machine at all three office locations. 

You may pay in the office and the convenient drive-thru during normal business hours. Payments may also be made through the overnight deposit box and 24/7 at the payment kiosks at all three office locations.

Payments accepted at two local banks and one pharmacy.

Sumter EMC has partnered with these institutions to accept current monthly bill payments. You will need to make other arrangements for late or overdue payments as the banks are not set up to accept payments for delinquent accounts.

Payments are credited to your account no later than the next business day.

E-Billing takes online bill payment one step further. At Sumter EMC, we can email your electric bill each month. On your billing date, you’ll receive an email that links you directly to your Sumter EMC bill.

If you want your bill to be mailed to a different address, you may change it here.

Take the surprise out of opening your monthly bill with levelized billing. Your payment will be averaged into 12 monthly installments throughout the year, eliminating large jumps in your energy costs. To qualify for levelized billing, you must have had service at the current location for at least one year and have a good payment record.

Have your monthly bill payment deducted from your bank account automatically - saving you time and money. Your payment will be deducted from your account on the 3rd of the month, or the next business day. It’s the same convenient process you may already be using for a car loan, insurance premium or other monthly payment.

Prepay gives members an opportunity to purchase electricity before they use it. This eliminates the need for deposits, late fees, disconnect fees, and reconnect fees. You will not receive a bill, and you must be able to receive electronic communications from Sumter EMC. You can enroll in prepay by placing a minimum of $50 in your prepay account. No deposit is required.

Text or email alerts are sent when your account balance is under the minimum balance of $20. You will continue to receive alerts until the balance becomes greater than $20. Several small payments can be made throughout the month rather than having a larger payment due on a certain date. Either way, you are in charge of your energy use and your payments.

This custom billing service is designed to make paying electric bills more convenient for any member drawing social security, retirement, or disability income. Participants are placed on a special billing cycle with a payment due date that coincides with the arrival of their monthly check.
