- Sumter EMC Foundation
The Sumter EMC Foundation, Inc. was started in the spring of 2003. It is funded by members who participate in Sumter EMC's Operation Round Up® program. Participation in the program is voluntary, and 100 percent of the funds generated is returned to the communities within Sumter EMC's service area.
- Walter Harrison Scholarship
The Walter Harrison Scholarship program was created in 1985 in memory of Walter Harrison, a Georgia and national rural electric co-op pioneer. The statewide scholarship is funded through donations contributed by EMCs throughout Georgia and pays $1,000 to each winner.
- Washington Youth Tour
The Washington Youth Tour (WYT) is an all-expense-paid weeklong trip to our nation's capital. Electric cooperatives across the country sponsor the tour to help students develop their leadership skills and learn the history of the rural electrification program.
- Young Co-op Couples Conference
Each year Sumter EMC selects a young couple from its service area to represent the Cooperative at the Young Couples Cooperative Conference.
- FFA Electrification Contest
Sumter EMC is proud to support (along with other Georgia EMCs) participation by local schools in the EMC/FFA Electrification Contest.
- GHSA State Championships
Sumter EMC joins 30 EMCs across the state to announce a partnership with the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) to sponsor 80 state championships during the 2019-2020 season. This season marks the 21st consecutive year Georgia's EMCs have been GHSA sponsors.

- NRECA International Program
